Innovation is Ken Schultz’s mantra. From his perfectly tuned haircuts and elegant color work for his loyal clients, to his salon locations, interiors and fellow stylists, things have never been status quo.
Ken was a pioneer with Space07, a first in the R Street Corridor. Inside, over-sized mirrors are casually propped up along the walls of the 6,000 square-foot space. Au courant art shows keep customers intrigued and flea market-find furniture, all show Ken’s sense of humor in his avant garde approach to salon style.
His approach to making clients look good, however, is completely serious. Schultz’s passion for hair and his artistic eye for just the right style for every client, began in the 1970s in San Francisco when he worked at Vidal Sassoon’s iconic salon. He’s been inspired ever since. Constant re-education keeps Schultz up to date as a leader in the city’s world of making people beautiful. After a session, he always asks clients if they have “plans” not being nosey, he just wants his work to be shown off!
